CrossFit is a strength and conditioning program, based in functional movement, which uses three main categories of exercise:
- Metabolic Conditioning (Cardio) — Rowing, running, etc.
- Weightlifting – Both Olympic and Power Lifting.
- Gymnastics — Body weight exercises, involving work with rings, pullups, situps, etc.
Through the constant variation of these three exercise elements, the CrossFit method is able to produce a physical and mental response that cannot be duplicated by any of these in isolation.
In CrossFit we define a fit individual as someone who has a mastery of ten fitness domains: cardiovascular/respiratory endurance, stamina, flexibility, power, speed, agility, balance, coordination, and accuracy. CrossFit is designed to increase your capacity in all of these domains.
The Coaches at Integral CrossFit program our workout of the day (WOD) with the needs and goals of our community in mind. We use only movements that are Functional in nature.
The constantly varied CrossFit workout is performed at an intensity level custom tailored to your level of fitness. The fitness requirements of an Olympic athlete and a retired grandparent can both be met in the same CrossFit class. We do this through “scaling” the repetitions, loads, and times to meet each individual’s needs.
All classes at Integral CrossFit are led by a certified CrossFit trainer and are kept small to allow for individual coaching and maximum improvement.
